The decision follows the retirement of Arthur Barnes, who first started work with FANE in 1966 and was MD in the late 1980s before returning to the position after the acquisition of the brand by the Barnes family in January 2007.
The new role will see Mark Barnes assuming responsibility for the overall management of both FANE and sister company Precision Devices. Directing them both through a period of growth and development which has seen both companies expanding significantly through the past two years.
Mark Barnes has served as a Director since the FANE acquisition in January 2007 and has seen his role expand from International Sales to an increasingly strategic role within the two companies.
Mr. Barnes described the appointment as “a great honour and a very exciting one at a great point in time for our businesses. Since entering the industry in 1997 I have worked closely with Arthur and have gained invaluable experience in the strategic management of our loudspeaker companies. We are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth and we are committed to consolidating upon that and taking FANE to the next level of expansion. We have an incredibly committed and dynamic team with a real passion for FANE and speaker manufacturing and I am keen to work with our committed client network to continue to deliver the products they need, to diversify the brand into key new areas and to expand our operations into new markets. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have learned my trade from a great Managing Director and father and look forward to taking FANE forward to an exciting new chapter in our brand’s over 50 year history.”
