The Colossus 18XB is intended for use as a high-output sub-bass driver either singly or in multi way systems. The unit features a 4 inch 'sandwich' inside and outside windings voice coil, immersed in a symmetric magnetic field and centralized by using two suspensions in a dual arrangement to maintain ultra linearity and stability at high excursions. The heavily ribbed straight-sided paper cone membrane is reinforced with high-strength composite fibres to resist deformation under extreme loads. The driver handles 1000 Watts (A.E.S.) continuous and can cope with peaks in excess of 4000 Watts. This is due to advanced thermal management in the form of a vented die-cast chassis and motor system using an internal heatsink coupled to a large vaned heatsink mounted on the rear of the unit. These measures effectively remove heat from the voice coil resulting in extremely low-power compression. The Colossus 18XB is designed for use in 100 to 250 Litre ported enclosures.
Please enquire about alternative impedances.
- A.E.S. power handling test. Pink noise bandpass filtered at 12 dB per octave with cutoff frequencies of 30 Hz and 300 Hz. Driver mounted in free air, test signal applied at rated power for two hours.
- Please note that the frequency response measurements are supplied for comparison only and are not a measure of the low frequency performance which may be achieved in a fully optimised system.

Perfect as expected. Great work from Fane.
Unbeatable price quality ratio

I use these HP in a mogale SUPERSCOOPER as an alternative to the PD1850. The sound is balanced, round thomann and bcp more accurate than with a PD1850. The HP hold amplification and the sound is nice even at high levels. I would do this choice without hesitation
Very good quality-price ratio

I use two in slide type caissons, drives by a crest 8001, and it sounds downright good! Attention however, thomann I think the rms power is rather 800W than 1000! Good sound, good descent, and good price!

This speaker is a great loudspeaker of high performance, it is mounted in a box bass refex, although it works thomann well when it is applied a power near to 750W produces a click as if the cone would break out sometimes becomes annoying, but it is very Robust, works great, responds incredibly well at low frequencies and even averages, also incorporates an adhesive rubber that allows both to thomann screw it front and rear. The cable connections are fantastic, simple. Just press and insert the cable.
Tiptop

In a copy of the EV MTL2, 2 of these basses are really good, actively separated at ~ 110Hz and thomann with ~ 2.4kW RMS total are thus well 100 people with proper level.
Very good HPs!

Characteristics: 600W RMS - 1200W MAX The rms power of these HPs is really underestimated. I usually send thomann about 1000W on average and they have never shown a sign of weaknesses. However, you should pay attention to the Xmax which is small. On the contrary, the dynamics are accentuated. Quality: It is a very good quality loudspeaker that goes low in frequency while keeping thomann a certain precision. My opinion: I plug them in bridged on a QSC RMX 2450 and the sound is top. It is warm, round and of very good quality. I strongly advise this association. After that, it all depends on the type of caisson that thomann is used to put the HPs, the quality depends on it too.
